Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be part of a team working from heart of Birmingham for key clients across England. The successful candidate will be part of a team supports range of Highway Asset Management and Highway Improvement projects for the Highway Agency (HA) and other Local Authority maintenance contracts.

You will be responsible for providing technical leadership for bid work, management and development of pavement systems, strategy development and asset management modelling.

Responsibilities;
Providing technical leadership on various bids and effective management of projects.
Network Prioritisation based on pavement asset condition.
Production of Pavement Asset Management Plans (PAMP) and Highway Asset Management Plans (HAMP).
Development of program of investigation/ forward program based on network needs.
Development of SCRIM policy for different commissions.
Providing technical leadership into management and use of HAPMS, UKPMS, EXOR and CONFIRM and other PM Systems as required.
Inventory management and network referencing.
Development of GIS solutions
Providing technical leadership into carrying out whole life costing, life cycle planning, deterioration modelling and economic evaluation and appraisals using different techniques.
Supervision and mentoring of staff


Essential Qualifications;
A degree or equivalent, HND or other relevant qualification in a Civil Engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer or working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer

Essential Background;
Extensive background of management of pavement management systems.
Ability to whole life costing and PFI asset management modelling.
History of developing SCRIM policies.
History of inventory management and development of GIS solutions
Background of liaising and working with key clients across England.
Desire to train and mentor graduates

Technical Competencies:
Understanding of Highway Agency/ Local Authority/ Transport for London (TfL) maintenance contracts
Understanding of whole life costing and PFI modelling principles.

Presentation skills

Desire to develop existing skills and acquire new technical competence to enhance team capability.
An ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines
