Our Client is a construction company offering its services to the education, government, retail, and commercial and residential development sectors, with offices located throughout the United Kingdom.

Job Description

A Planning Manager is required to lead a team of Planners working on a variety of projects within the commercial, education, and government sectors. Project values range from £5 million to £50 million. Projects will include new build, design and build, and refurbishment.

You will need to have good technical understanding, and a good understanding of the construction process with strong client facing skills. You will oversee a construction programme for each project, and implement procedures, communicating with subcontractors and clients for tender related work. You will be familiar with tender related programme work and issuing master programmes. You will liaise with the Business Unit Director producing performance reports and resource requirements. You will need to prepare and present pre qualification documents. You will need to produce accurate assessments of site preliminaries including costs for plant and electrical related items. You will need to visit the site, reporting to the tender team. You will ensure method statements and logistic plans are produced and oversee buying, design and procurement programmes, progress reports, short term programmes, master information schedules and contract programme. You will be creative and try to improve on performance and efficiency of the team, while assisting with training of some team members relating to Planning software such as ASTA. You will be CIOB qualified, or qualified by a similar professional body.

You will report to the Bid Centre Manager and Business Unit Director. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to communicate and work with individuals from a multitude of teams and with individuals at all levels.You will receive a competitive salary package which will include a basic salary of £55,000 to £66,000 depending on your ability and knowledge. You will be located in Regional office in Surrey, South East England.
