The economic downturn has impacted upon occupations right across the country. In 2009, Fusion People began working with the Department of Work & Pensions to provide job search support to newly unemployed.

A high proportion of these individuals are unfamiliar with being unemployed, especially at a time when the pool of available employment is shrinking and tightening labour market means they need to think laterally about alternative employment.

To meet this demand Fusion People now have over 25 staff who provide tailored intensive support activities for customers who have been made or are under threat of redundancy to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to regain employment.

This provision has proved so successful that Fusion People have now achieved full Momenta Accreditation and now aligns itself to act as a sub-contractor to organisations working on large DWP contracts such as Flexible New Deal, Community Task Force and the Personal Employment Program.
